![]() I have written a tutorial on working with layers. This was not a problem at all once I understood it. When you pasted into it, a new (blank) layer was created above it. Here I discovered that when you wanted to paste into a new layer, you had to add a new layer and highlight it. I was used to cutting or copying and automatically pasting into a new layer. (See Tool Bar Settings in the image below.)Īs I tested a number of the options, I did run into one that was a little confusing. There are also settings directly under the main menu for many of the tools. I will highlight a few tools and their settings so you can see the large number of choices available. This icon is probably the most powerful of all because it shows all the tools' settings that can be used. menus or through short cuts such as Transform, Color Balance, etc. You can access them from the top of the toolbar either through the File, Edit, etc. The number of manipulation choices is excellent. I don't actually know how many steps you can have in the History, but I had over 10 at one point. Layers, for me, is a very important aspect of any image editing program. (I do not plan on comparing it to Photoshop, but I like to see what type of files I can open and how they will appear). The first item I noticed on the interface is that it will not only accept layered PSD files, but will show the layers so that you can work on them. It includes many of the important tools found in expensive programs as well as including the capability to create and work with vectors. It costs only $19.99 and is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. It allows the user to manipulate the controls as well as use some automatic ones. PaintSupreme from BrainDistrict is an excellent buy for those who want to use an easy, intuitive image editing program which is also powerful. In my reviews, I often, also, write small how-tos. With that in mind, one has to look at other points of interest such as program cost and ease of use as well as learning curve. I have been using Adobe Photoshop for those 20 + years so I naturally come from that perspective. I have reviewed many image editing packages in the 20 + years I have been reviewing. I haven't tested it but according to this page on the WineDB the pen pressure does not work, to fix it it suggests "if you want pen pressure you have to open the misc.I usually like readers to know my perspective or "where I come from" in terms of reviewing. Sometimes it takes a few seconds and it will return to the same screen, select 'I don't want to add another shortcut.' and click Next. You will then be asked to add a shortcut, select sai.exe and click Next. Run the installer once it opens, when it is finished click OK and it will close. You will then be asked to select the installer, I used the trial from the PTS website version 1.2.5. In the next screen Wine will configure for a few moments and then the settings screen will open, under the 'Applications' tab change the 'Windows Version' to 'Windows XP', then click OK. In the next screen select '32 bits windows installation'. ![]() When asked to choose a version of Wine, select '2.12-staging'. Tick both 'Use another version of Wine', and 'Configure Wine'. Select 'Install a program in a new virtual drive'. Open PlayOnLinux and select 'Install a Program' on the left. I have just tried this with PlayOnLinux using WindowsXP wine config and version 2.12 staging it is working.
